Ever had an ice cream bath?!
At the Ice Cream Farm we love to give to charities and this November we held the farm’s first ever Ice Scream Bath Marathon for BBC Children in Need.
On Friday 17th November, thirty members of the Ice Cream Farm team, including Director, Jonathan Fell and senior management, braved the cold and took it in turns to sit in a bath full to the brim with ice cream mix!
We couldn’t think of a better way to help support Children in Need than by sitting in a bath full of what we’re best known for, ice cream! The Ice Scream Bath Marathon took place from the moment the Farm opened at 10am until closing at 5:30 pm. Over the course of the day the team embarked on a pretty icy journey to raise money for the much loved charity.
Children in Need is now in its 37th year and supports over 2,400 projects in communities across the UK that are helping change the lives of disadvantaged children and young people. Since their first major appeal in 1980 they have raised over £909million and we were proudly able to add £509.08 to this total through Just Giving and donations on the day.
Visitors to The Ice Cream Farm, staff and those who sponsored the team poured ice cream toppings over all participants for extra donations, whilst others like JJ and Tom sat in the bath with ice cream cones on their heads. From hundreds and thousands, to chocolate honeycomb and mini beans, they sure did get a sprinkling!
Thankfully, Countyloos had kindly donated a shower for the team to use after their challenge.
